Queens rowers advance to the A final in Kazan
World University Rowing Championships Day 2
Ireland Womens 4- consisting of QUBLBC rowers, Hannah Lavery, Emma Kerrigan, Alex Greene and Claire McIlwaine have advance to the final of the World University Rowing Championships after finishing 3rd in today's Repechage, beating New Zealand and Norway. A strong field of Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Netherlands, New Zealand and Ireland take to the start line for the final tomorrow at 7.30am (Irish time) Final start list . Ireland LW1x and LM1x crews have also made it to the A final. The men’s 4- finished 1st in today’s B final.
Also today the club enters its first event of the 2012/2013 season, when several crews past and present will make the trip to New Ross Co Wexford to compete in the Barrow 18KM exhibition race.

Yes i am the person that wrights most of the post on the web site over the past year. I will be less involved this year so you might want to look for a few extra people to provide content.
I post about about the upcoming recruitment events should be pust asap, things about open days and bazaar, may be put this on the web site home page also.

The 12th World University Rowing Championship gets under way
Flat calm conditions meet the athletes on the first day of the World University Rowing Championship at the Kazan Rowing Centre. The Queens girls of Hannah Lavery, Emma Kerrigan, Alex Greene and Claire McIlwaine representing Ireland had a challenging draw in heat two of the Women’s 4-. The Irish Boat had advanced to tomorrows Repechage after finishing 3ed in their heat behind Russia and Poland. The Repechage will take place tomorrow where Ireland will be fighting it out against Ukraine New Zealand and Norway for a place in the A final. . Other Irish boats also saw Ireland also success in the early morning rounds with Claire Lambe advancing straight to the final in the W1X . Other Irish boats will race throughout the day and you can fallow their progress here.
